I was born in Frankfurt Germany to military parents and was raised in the very small town of Granger Washington. My interest in human behavior and social justice has always been a constant theme in my life, but it wasn’t until I began traveling around the world that I realized what a deep passion it was for me.
I began pursuing my educational goals shortly after the birth of my first child—eventually earning my Bachelors degree in Psychology and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My educational path and personal life experiences frequently prompted me to contemplate what it would’ve been like had I been born in a past time period. Surely I would be on the right side of history I thought—that was until various life experiences challenged that ideal and eventually inspired me to create a story about love, romance, religion, race, social justice, and the painfully rewarding process of discovering and further developing one’s very own true identity.
