The series aired on FOX Kids for two seasons, and later FOX Kids TOON in the 1990s. The show was not as popular as Goranger or Dynaman and was dropped after 24 episodes. It also had a different tone as it used humor that would be fairly considered for younger viewers, including jokes about insect rape, jokes about talking to oneself, and even a gag where one of the main characters says he is terrified of zombies. A second, never-made pilot was created in 1992, titled Bio-Man and Sega-Man. Saban re-scoped the story and renamed the series Sega-Man, casting an American actor in the lead and adding footage of Sega Genesis games. This footage was added by Saban with permission from Sega of America, who did not own the production rights. While this pilot was rejected by FOX Kids, Saban was given the opportunity to create another series for the network.
