On the day of the arrest of the five hundred seventy-three Druzes, Hamza bin Ali was locked up inside the monastery of the Druze community in the town of Bani Sa'd. During this period, he wrote the first two books of the Epistles of Wisdom, the sixth, which includes the Farewell message of al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, and several other epistle, and many notables, including the sages, the preachers, the theologians, and the spiritual leaders, paid him a visit.
Ad-Darazi called all the members to a meeting in order to be purged of the heresy of ghuluww and five hundred seventy-three Druzes were arrested. However, many Druze leaders at the meeting said that the arrest was not legitimate and that ad-Darazi was only a tool of the French government. They began to spread the ghuluww and started a revolt that lasted for a year. When the French government learned about it, they arrested several more Druze leaders in order to stop the revolt, but it continued and the French army was not able to defeat it.
The Druze believe in an eternal afterlife.[273] In his introduction to the first ten epistles of the Druze scriptures, al-Muqtana al-Baha'uddin wrote that the purpose of the Druze religion is to reveal the truth about the Universal Soul (Jibt) from which humans came and their purpose in life.[274] The Druze believe that the Universal Soul was created and it will return to its origin through the process of resurrection.[275] The Druze believe that in the reincarnation of al-Hakim, the Druze soul will reincarnate in a body as al-Hakim did.[275]
The Druze believe that al-Hakim's spirit will return one day and the age of wisdom will appear.[7] The Druze prophet, Baha'uddin of Akko (the founder of the order of the Bektashis) came to the conclusion that al-Hakim is still alive and will return one day and will reward the pious who will follow his spiritual path.[272] The Druze believe that their founder Baha'uddin is the reincarnation of al-Hakim and believe that the world will then be illuminated and the Messianic prophecies fulfilled.[272] Baha'uddin's grandson, Sayyid Ahmad, who will be the Mahdi, will be the reincarnation of al-Hakim.[272] The Druze believe in the daily resurrection of the soul and will come and resurrect the body.[272] 827ec27edc
