The short amount of time to reach a fully-on state means that the device can enter the sleep mode at almost full power. This is a good way to save power, but it may be used for various other purposes (e.g. fast-boot).
Some devices may get a rescan event when turning on. This allows the device to try and connect to cellular networks during the initial boot-up phase. See the special verb string: nap.
An issue could occur if the device is left on the cellular network for many hours, and is then turned off. When the device is ready to be used, it will try and connect to cellular networks when being turned on. If the Cellular module is not available, the device may not respond to the RTC wake signal. Note: Turning off the Cellular module is still required.
If you configure the Cellular module in an HV3 config.xml and then change your device to an HV2 config.xml, the HV2 device could connect cellular networks. The device may not respond if it is turned off, but the device should be able to respond to RTC events. In the event the RTC signal is lost, then the RTC wakeup will not be sent by the HV2 cellular module. d2c66b5586
