The band's first greatest hits compilation Lemon DVD, released in October 1999, topped the UK album charts for two weeks, and the album followed Be Here Now as the band's third best-selling studio album in the UK.[13] The accompanying Lemon album featured singles from the band's "golden years" and all of their B-sides, as well as an EP featuring the track "Oh My Go Round". The album reached number two in the charts, which at the time made them the only band outside of the Beatles to have all of their studio albums enter the charts within one year.[14] After their final single "Cigarettes and Alcohol" in 2001, Oasis was considered done when it came to recording new material.[15][16] However, in October 2003, Noel Gallagher announced that the band were writing new material and that they intended to release a compilation album before a single-album-per-year rule was imposed on them by their record company.[17] They released 'Who Feels Love' on 15 June 2005, the album also featuring a number of B-sides (along with the two previously released singles). The album reached number one in the UK album charts. 'Who Feels Love?' was the band's first number one album in the UK since 1997. However, by this time the band was in a hiatus due to Noel Gallagher's illness, business woes, and the subsequent financial crash in 2007.[6] The band released the compilation album Don't Believe the Truth: Best of (1995-2005) in March the same year. Although it only reached number three in the UK, it was the band's biggest seller to date.
In June 2007, Oasis released their first double-album, Dig Out Your Soul. The first disc consists of material that was left off of Don't Believe the Truth, whilst the second disc' featured material that had not been released before. "Slide Away" was the lead single from the album, and peaked at number 99 on the UK Singles Chart. Its greatest chart success came in the rest of Europe, where it entered the charts in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany and Sweden. d2c66b5586
