Ezekiel, Daniel and the apostles were not writing prophecies in a land far away from them. They were writing about experiences happening in their own day in the Middle East to a people who were living on their doorstep. The nations of the world can see their own future to some extent in the unfolding of the prophetic Word. After all, do the people of Israel, who live on a nation with 14 million people, not see themselves in such prophecies?
God's people cannot simply stand on the sidelines and not study the Word of God. We are to be like laboring bees over a hive. Like honey making bees, we should operate on the basis of what we are taught in the Bible so that we can speak what we have heard from the Lord.
The Bible is our instruction manual for life. We are to read, listen and apply what we have been taught in whatever we do. We are to write it down for future generations to read. But we also are to take a personal Bible study together and share what we know with one another. Digging into the Word is easier for us because we know what we are studying, but we can sometimes find it difficult to recognize what the Word of God is saying when we are reading through a stodgy translation. We have to realize that what God says is meant for our benefit just as much as it is for His. He wrote it face to face.
As we analyze the Word, we need to understand who we are. That is why we need to pray. We need to be led by the Spirit, because we may dig into the Word on a subject and find that the Bible speaks about it in a different way than how we have come to think of what the Bible says. We can get confused if we are not led by the Spirit. Some people are good to just jump with both feet into decision making in their personal life, but when they are studying, they keep their feet up waiting on the Spirit's leading.
He (the false prophet who deceives many by his miracles) has a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one is able to buy or sell unless he has the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name. d2c66b5586
